You've probably seen them before. You know them small popup notifications on sales or subscription pages showing (real) people who have recently subscribed to the same email list, signed up for a webinar, or purchased the same product you are currently viewing.
These apps show 100% automatic real conversions, sales, and / or sign-on ads to your pages.
Of course, this notification should be yours social proof or trust to buy, subscribe or follow your call to action,
Aka the "wisdom of the crowd" and the "fear of missing" psychological effects …

How do these social proof apps work?
These apps use the same technique as Facebook or Google when retargeting pixels.
With the (cloud based) app, you can create and place a "conversion" pixel (just a short piece of code) on the thank you page (after someone has bought).
And it creates a short script that you need to place on the actual sales (or subscription) page. This script "captures" the details (such as real name. profile pic. time date, and Location) received from the pixel and displays the notifications.
(Note: If you do not use a landing page, but only a subscription page, you can only place a portion of the built-in code on this page that contains both the script and the pixel code.)
Therefore, you can use these apps on any website you control and for conversations (sales, subscriptions, etc.) where you can place a pixel code.

You can set text, logo, app branding (removal), widget form type, and time interval (real-time, rotated).

Yes. The app automatically detects all registration forms on the page and is smart enough to retrieve the once submitted contact information. So it works with any email autoresponder you might use.
Yes. As long as you can paste a few lines of Java script into the body tag, you can get started.
Yes. These apps work for most popular shopping carts.
Will these apps slow down my website?
No. You only use a few lines of lightweight code.
Note that for each campaign, you specify a standard text line as "Person A from the site has purchased product before X Z days". This phrase is repeatedly seen by your visitors. (Only LetImpact allows you to use different campaigns on a domain.)
Even if you always get a name, you can not always get a place or a public profile. In this case, the software uses "somewhere" as a location and a gravatar as an image (or a platform logo as a JVZoo).
For your information: Convertproof uses the city as the location and Provely uses the country as the location, while LetImpact uses both.
With Convertproof you can not set the duration and frequency of popups (approximately every 3 seconds), while you can only set the frequency with Provely and LetImpact.
In addition, you have more options for modifying the style of the widget (square / round boxes and images, and a color palette).
When using real people, keep in mind that some buyers / subscribers may not like sharing their data with others.
On the other hand, if you are with fake people and people will find out, this tool is counterproductive.
